Strong, confident and absolutely killer on the catwalk...
Shanae is one of those people you instantly fall in love with, with the most striking features and beautiful personality. Shanae is an independent model that experienced her first Miami Swim show with us in two looks - the White and Blue Belize Bandeau, and she seriously did us proud.
After the show, we spent a little time catching up and getting down into the details on Shanae's runway encounter. It's time for a little girl time...
Explain how you felt when you found out you were officially walking at Miami Swim Week this year with Lounge...
Thrilled. Honoured. Pumped.
What are your tactics to get yourself prepped and ready to walk the runway?
After hair and makeup I get myself settled. When you put on that swimsuit you become “HER” the swimsuit dictates what type of girl or personality you’ll have on the runway. Lounge Swimwear is all about strong, sexy, bad ass women, and loving yourself so I channel that energy. When you’re on the lineup you start to get into the music, shake any nerves off, dance and get hyped!!
When you tried on your Lounge Swim, how did it make you feel?
As soon as I put on the swimsuit I felt powerful. The suit complimented every curve and the design was just beautiful.
What went through your head as you were walking?
I was loving the energy from the audience, the crowd was so energetic, they started clapping and I heard words like “wow” so I was like yeah, I got this.
Who or what has inspired the way you walk the runway?
I’m all about the 90s runway, girls don’t really walk like the greats anymore. My all time favs are Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, but I can’t leave the pageant girls out either Miss Universe 2007 Zuleyka Rivera.
What's one piece of advise you've been given that'll keep you cool and confident at the show?
Practice makes perfect. When you know your turns and what you’re capable of on the runway then confidence exudes.
Any famous last words?
Just be you, and own it!! I’m so happy to now be apart of such an amazing movement, my new #femalefamily. Thanks again Lounge Underwear.
